I've always been fascinated with Catholic iconography, the Divine Feminine, tarot and astrology. Every day I do a reading of astrology, tarot, and numerology for the day's guidance.

These Divine Feminine Blessing Cards began with my daily practice, and became embodied with a sculpture—a Madonna I created for The Secret Dollhouse art show a few years back. I made her (and another doll) from found objects, fabric, flowers, and beautiful chaos. She was assemblage, mixed media, devotional art made tangible.

I photographed my sculpture, then used that image as the foundation for these cards. Through digital collage and blending with traditional Madonna imagery, I created 44 unique Sacred Mothers. Sparkles, glitter, watercolor marks, and clouds—elements from my assemblage art practice—give each card the textural, chaotic beauty of handmade devotional objects.

Each card is built from my own artwork, transformed through technology into 44 different expressions of the Divine Feminine. They are both classical and contemporary, ordered and chaotic, traditional and reimagined.

The original sculpture was already called Madonna. Through my process, she became many—each one offering her own blessing, her own energy, her own way of holding the Sacred Feminine.

I'm excited to get a deck of these printed up for every day use, and especially excited to keep creating collages, sculptures, and assemblages. Stay tuned for more art.
